changing trains can seem complicated.
In this issue, we will show you the inexpensive way to get from KIX to Umeda by train,
with pictures. Please get to your destination without hesitation and enjoy a lot of sightseeing.
There are multiple ways to get there
Umeda Station is located in the same area as Osaka Station and is the center of sightseeing in Osaka.
There are multiple ways to get from Kansai International Airport to Umeda.
- Take JR to Osaka Station and walk to Umeda
- Nankai train to Namba, subway to Umeda
- Take the Nankai train out to Shin-Imamiya and transfer to the JR train to Osaka Station. From there, walk to Umeda
- Take a shuttle bus and get off at a stop around Umeda
In this issue, we will show you how to take the Nankai Line out to Namba and then take the subway to Umeda.

Go out from KIX 2F and cross the connecting bridge to Kansai Airport Station.
Purchase a ticket at the ticket counter or ticket vending machine.
From Namba Station on the Nankai Line, please use the Airport Express or Limited Express “Rapi:t”.

Enter through the red Nankai Line ticket gate
This time, we will use the “Airport Express train“.
This train is the inexpensive way to travel from KIX Airport to Osaka City.
Nankai Line Namba Sta. ⇒ Subway Namba Sta.
Arrived at Nankai Line Namba Station
Going down the escalator
Turn left and go down one more floor
Once downstairs, heading forward left
Go to Namba subway station
You will see the ticket gate
Subway Namba Sta. ⇒ Subway Umeda Sta.
Enter the ticket gate and board a train bound for “Umeda”, “Shin-Osaka”, “Senri-Chuo” on platform 2.
It is 4 stops to Umeda, and the ride time is about 9 minutes.
Shinsaibashi is also only one stop away.

Go up to the upper floor, and straight ahead you will see the Kita gate (North ticket gate).
The popular shopping and dining spot “LUCUA OSAKA” is about a 2-minute walk from this ticket gate.
Umeda Area Touring Bus “UMEGLE Bus”
Once you arrive in Umeda, we recommend using the “UMEGLE Bus”, a traveling bus.
It is also convenient for going to Chayamachi and the Osaka Shiki Theater, which are a bit far on foot.
