We went to “Okonomiyaki Kiji Umeda Sky Building Branch” !
The restaurant was selected as one of the 100 best Okonomiyaki restaurants in 2022, so we were prepared for a bit of a wait.
We were lucky to find a table in the back of the restaurant at the right time and entered the restaurant without waiting.
Looking at the menu, I wondered what to order.
But we decided to ask the waiter’s recommendation.
We were told that the most common choices were “Buta-tama”, “Modan-yaki”, and “Suji-tama”.
Since there were two of us, we ordered “Buta-tama” and “Suji-tama”!
The okonomiyaki orders were being cooked one after another at the counter!
After a short wait, “Buta-tama” and “Suji-tama” appeared on the counter at the same time!
First, I had half of “Buta-tama” and half of “Suji-tama”.
The sauce was thick and sweet, with a nice accent of shiso leaves!
I thought it was simple but delicious!
I had okonomiyaki with pepper for the first time since it was recommended to me.
I would like to have it with pepper at home too!
Next was “Suji-tama”, which I really liked!
The batter itself is the same, but there is melt-in-your-mouth beef tendon inside, and it is very delicious!
Since I was in the mood for another dish, I chose “Yakisoba”!
You can choose from sauce, soy sauce, or salt seasoning!
I ordered soy sauce because it was unusual!
The taste was very delicious!
Everyone, including Kansai people who love okonomiyaki and tourists, will agree that it is delicious!
